Chilaquiles are a popular Mexican breakfast dish consisting of gently fried corn tortillas cooked in red or green salsa.

Ingredient: *Corn tortillas; we don’t recommend using flour tortillas. *Jarred salsa or homemade salsa. *Cooking oil. *– Garnishes such as avocado, queso fresco, crema, and a fried egg.

Step-1 Fry the tortilla chips till nicely browned and crispy.

Step-2 Place the tortilla chips on a baking sheet and sprinkle lightly with salt.

Step-3 Prepare salsa roja by combining tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and garlic in a blender.

Step-4 Cook the salsa in the skillet until it has thickened slightly.

Step-6 Serve warm, topped with avocado or guacamole, crema, queso fresco, and/or fried eggs, if preferred.
